Hey there - I'm Megan

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist...
California #113637
Arizona #16550
Colorado #3229 - Telehealth
Florida #1887 - Telehealth
Massachusetts #10000505
Texas #205908
I'm a graduate of California State University, Fullerton...
(go Titans!)
I'm a wife, a Bengal cat mom, a singer, a hiker, a watercolor artist, a devout Orthodox Christian, and am the director of Agape Wellness Collective.
Keeps me out of trouble. Usually.
I also know what it feels like to be broken.
I became a therapist so that when the next person or teen was going through their dark days, they wouldn't have to face them alone. I wanted to give the gift, become the person, that I myself needed. Most of my clients struggle with some iteration of eating concerns, OCD, anxiety or traumatic experiences, spiritual distress, or existential dread. Many folks also find themselves attracted to my practice because of my niche in Apostolic Christianity, specifically Orthodox Christianity and Roman Catholicism, but by no means are all of my clients religious.
How I Approach Therapy
I see my role as an interpreter; you're on a journey back Home, you have your map, but sometimes it's difficult to read the map, or it's hard to see the road ahead. I help folks relinquish the need for control, to pursue Life instead.
I work primarily from existential and humanistic lenses; over time, we tend to drill down deep to meta themes of life & death, meaning, freedom/ responsibility, and love/ belonging. If you've read the book "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl, who founded Logotherapy, you'll have a much better idea of my views on psychotherapy.
Practically speaking, I'm very hands-on, I take an active role, but I don't do the work for you. I'm comfortable with silence, and I'll give you space when you need to process. I am honest, straightforward, and compassionate, and you won't have to guess what I'm thinking - I'm not one of those therapists who keeps a straight face! I'll ask you the tough questions so that you get to the place of finding your own answers.
What to Expect from Me
Therapy is a relationship - we build trust over time through shared experiences. The first couple of sessions, we'll get to know each other, why you've decided to come talk, and how you'd like for things to be different a few months from now. Most people seek out counseling when they've noticed that something or someone is no longer bringing them Life, and that they have lost their Way or their why, and they need to find their way back Home. There's a lot of suffering in the world, and while I can't take away the pain, I can be with you in it, and accompany you through your process.
